What is "Dustless Blasting"?

Dustless Blasting is the newest technology in media blasting. Unlike traditional sand blasting, the process incorporates a small amount of water mixed with the blasting media. The result is a significant reduction of friction which reduces heat and warping. It also prevents dust plumes from forming when the blasting media strikes the surface, and will not create sparks.

With dustless blasting, almost any abrasive may be used in the system:

  • Crushed Glass

  • Copper Slag/Coal Slag

  • Sand

  • Garnet

  • Organics (Walnut, Corncob, Soda, etc.)

  • And More!

When used to remove coatings from steel, a non-toxic rust inhibitor can be used to prevent rust from forming on recently cleaned surfaces.

What are the benefits of Dustless Blasting over traditional sandblasting?

Faster

Requires less time and material

Environmentally Friendly

No dust plume or toxic clouds

Safe

EPA, DEQ and OSHA approved. No risk of ignition to flammable chemicals/materials.

Less Friction

Significantly less heat generation. Safer for Automotive or other thin materials that may warp due to heat build-up.

Ease of Clean-Up

No clinging dust. Produces very little runoff that is simple to contain.
